About Simon Mannion - Award-Winning Executive Creative Director
I’ll be honest, this wasn’t my first career choice. But ever since I was dropped from the school football team after my very first match, it was clear I’d have to find another calling in life.
And so began my journey in advertising. After working at blue-chip agencies I became one of the early members of Iris. And as a partner, helped turn a London office of 40 people into a 1000+ global network, culminating in the £80 million acquisition by Cheil.
A multi-platformed, multi-award winning creative leader, I’ve built departments, nurtured countless teams and developed long-lasting senior client relationships.
Along the way, I’ve created a range of suncream paint pots to protect builders from skin cancer for Wickes, launched Shell’s biggest brand repositioning across 70 countries and made the top ten in YouTube’s most-shared ads for Adidas. I’ve had the opportunity to create work that’s been loved by everyone – from mums, kids and Gen Z to Cannes, Clios and D&AD.
My love for all things creative extends outside the office, writing children’s books, a music blog and as a mentor for the School of Communication Arts, D&AD, plus a lecturer for Speakers For Schools.
To date, I have yet to be recognised for my efforts in the world of football.
